Prestige A3+ and A3+ R DTF Printer Troubleshooting Common Issues
Need help with your Prestige DTF Printer?
We have gathered the top five FAQs and troubleshooting help for them so you can easily get the help you need when you need it.
#1: Why is my white ink not printing?
Reason: Pooling, running, or bleeding ink is most likely caused by:
Print mode settings
Incompatible film and ink set
Film PET coating defect
Expired/separated ink
Solution: Do not use third party ink or film.
Check white ink is not expired.
Verify print mode and media settings on the queue and job tab underneath the preview window in Digital Factory. Settings should reflect current ink and film in use.
If necessary, reduce white ink density.
#2: There are streaks in my prints! Help!!
Reason: Multiple Causes.
Internal Roller dirty/debris inside printer
Damaged/dirty encoder strip
Printhead Strike
Solution: Special attention must be paid to the direction of the smearing or track marks.
Vertical marks indicate a dirty internal roller. This can be cleaned with the included cleaning solution and cleaning swabs.
If the marks appear to be in a random pattern or localized to one specific area across different prints, visually inspect encoder strip for damage/dirt. Encoder strip can be cleaned with included cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
If they are horizontal (i.e. the direction the print head travels) a head strike is the most likely cause. See head strike instructions below.
#3: The Ink Maintenance Light Keeps Flashing
Solid Red light on ink/drop maintenance button
Reason: Ink resetter malfunction.
Solution: Watch video to reset. Contact support if solution not found.
Two ALTERNATING Flashing Lights:
Reason: Printer thinks waste tank is full.
Solution: Reset Waste Ink Counter.
Two SIMULTANEOUS Flashing Lights
Reason: Critical error inhibiting normal operation of printer.
Solution: Contact DTFStation for support and assistance.
#4: Avoiding Print Head Replacement Issues...BEFORE It's a Problem
Printhead issues are often attributed to not using the machine often enough and not conducting nozzle checks/head cleans with enough frequency.
It's critical to complete daily or every other day use and routine maintenance is mandatory to ensure proper performance of the machine.
#5: How do I fix material feed issues?
If you are struggling to feed material through the printer, check out the below videos for help.
Misfed materials can lead to print head strikes which you want to avoid so it's critical to know how to feed DTF film correctly.
