If you want to save material when printing on your Roland BN2-20A or BN2-20 you can take advantage of the Perf Cut Sheet Cut option.
This setting will allow you to clearly tear away the printed material you have already printed, while leaving the bare minimum lead material for the next print - avoiding waste. Read on for how to set up this option.
The newer model Roland BN2 machines, including the BN2-20A, include a special edition of FlexiDesigner for Versaworks. This software allows you to easily add contour and perf cut cutlines in just a click or two.
I was able to add cut lines for all of these t shirt transfers in just a minute or so.
But it's also includes some printing and cutting settings that are really helpful including Perf Cut Sheet cut.
When you're ready to send you image to print and cut, click the Send to Device tool along the top toolbar in FlexiDesigner.
This will open the Print Settings window. At the bottom is an option for Print Parameters.
On the "Other" tab there is an option for Sheet Cut with a dropdown menu. Select Perf Cut and close out of the window.
If you set the Page Space setting to "0" mm it will sheet cut directly below where your design has print and cut leaving NO wasted vinyl at the bottom of your design.
What this will do is create a perforated sheet cut directly below your image.
When the perf cut is done, and the print head re-homes, you can then tear away the printed sheet.
This is a great way to separate different jobs or orders.
By the way you can grab this Sarcastic Quotes set as part of the limited time Sarcastic Bundle from So Fontsy.
You'll notice the material left in the machine is trimmed as close to the pinch rollers as possible.
When you go to do your next print and cut job on the Roland BN2-20A, the print head will detect the leading edge of the material and print as close to it as possible.
