If you're struggling to get Roland cut lines inside your letters or on internal parts of a design, it's actually very easy.
This is probably one of the top questions I get from Roland beginners and it's super easy. Read on to learn the one step you need to take to add cut lines for Roland BN2-20A or BN2-20 inside letters.
Once you have your transparent PNG file in FlexiDesigner go to Effects menu and select Contour Cut.
This will open the Design Central tab where you can add your Roland contour cut lines.
There are several options on this small panel including adding bleeds and borders (which I also have tutorials on).
To add contour cut lines you'll scroll down the dropdown box to the Contour Cut option to select that pink line. But this only puts the cut line around the outside edge of the design. This would leave the inside of letters uncut and white HTV would remain there.
If you want to add a cut line inside the letters like the D or a lowercase e or a, you'll want to check the small box for "Add Holes". This will add additional cut lines to inside edges of your design so that the vinyl can be removed.
Now it's important to remember, the image has to be transparent for this to work. If the inside of the letter is a solid fill white, for example, or if the background is white, it's not going to work.
The final step is to click the green check to confirm your options and you've generated your cut lines! This screenshot looks like a mess, but it's just to show you that the cut lines are on both sides of each letter.
From here you can move forward with sending the image to both print and cut on your Roland BN2-20A.
