10 Reasons the Brother SE2000 Is the Easiest Embroidery Machine for Beginners

I recently upgraded my embroidery machine to a larger 5x7" wireless-compatible Brother SE-2000 and it HAS to be one of the easiest embroidery machines for beginners.

If you're new to embroidery or applique, the Brother SE-2000 is not only user friendly it's packed with awesome features like automatic threading and wireless technology.  Read on for my top 10 reasons the Brother SE2000 is the easiest embroidery machine for beginners.

1. Setting Up the Brother SE2000 is a Breeze

Getting the Brother SE2000 embroidery and sewing machine setup is easy and straightforward. The sewing and embroidery machine comes pretty much full assembled and only takes a few minutes to connect to go from the box to sewing!

I have a step by step SE2000 setup video here to help you through the set up process.

2. Compatibility with Artspira App

The Brother Artspira app is the most time consuming part of the setup process, but it's hand down the best feature on the SE2000.

Brother's Artspira app, which along with digitizing your own images, allows you to wirelessly transfer designs from a PC computer or any mobile device to the sewing machine. It's free to use and included with the Brother SE2000. This tutorial will show you exactly how to use Brother's Artspira App.

3. Intuitive Touch Screen

The Brother SE2000 has a large touch screen that's not only easy to view and use to control the machine, but it's intuitive to use even if you're a total beginner.

4. Automatic Needle Threading

Can't see the eye of the needle? No problem! The Brother SE2000 will automatically thread the needle for you with just the press of the button.

Once you thread the machine, you just press down on this little button and the machine threads itself in seconds.  A full tutorial on how to thread the SE2000 and how to automatically thread the needle can be found here.

5. 5x7" Embroidery Hoop and Sewing

The 5x7" hoop size is the perfect starter size for a beginner. It's not too big to overwhelm you or crush your budget, but not too small that you'll feel limited to only pocket size embroidery designs.

For beginners, the single needle SE2000 with its 5x7" hoop is the perfect starter embroidery hoop size when you're just learning.  The ability to also sew on the SE2000 means gives you dual functionality and versatility.

6.  Network Connection and Wireless Embroidery

The Brother SE2000 can connect to your wireless network which means you can send embroidery and applique designs straight to the machine from your PC or mobile device.

There's no need to use a thumb drive although it is an option. It is important to point out the Brother transfer software is PC only so that's why the Artspira app is such a great option for MAC users specifically.

7. Versatility with Thumb Drive Access

If you're customizing on the spot, can't access a network or working on a MAC (which can't utilize the Brother transfer app), you can load your embroidery designs on a thumb drive and insert that thumb drive directly into the SE2000 to access them anytime anywhere.  It's a fast and easy alternative to the Artspira app when you can't get on a network.

8. Built in Design Library

There are thousands of built in ready-to-embroider designs that are included with the Brother SE2000. You can access them both directly on the sewing and embroidery machine through the control panel or browse the design library in the Artspira app.

You can filter designs to find free designs with just one color and to match the hoop size you have to to quickly sort for the best beginner-level designs included with the SE200.

9. Customizing Your Designs

The Artspira app allows you to import your own images and then customize them right in the app. For example let's say you have a split monogram design. You can add a name or text in the split area in the palm of your hand using one of the included free fonts in Artspira.

10. Digitize Your Own Designs

With the upgraded version of Artspira, you can digitize designs yourself as well. This means you can turns SVG files you create into embroidery files and send them directly to you the SE2000.

If you're looking for a beginner friendly embroidery machine I think the Brother SE2000 is an excellent choice and will give you room to grow for when you're ready to jump into more advanced embroidery and sewing projects as well!
