You can easily turn clipart into stickers in Silhouette Studio.
Clipart is great because it often comes in a set of full color images making them perfect for stickers or stickers sets. Read on for the quickest way to make clipart stickers.
I'm going to make a set of cute beach clipart stickers. This 45 piece set of nautical clipart is from So Fontsy's Under the Sea Bundle and all of the personal or commercial use files are PNGs which makes it super easy to use them in Silhouette Studio. As you know PNG files are auto traced on import if you have that setting turned on.
To open the clipart in Silhouette Studio I just drag and drop the sticker designs I want to use. I would recommend avoiding any that have real small or thin areas like the ropes.
Once the clipart images are all in Studio, you'll likely want to resize them. You can click Select All or drag your mouse across the entire work area to select all of the designs. Then just drag a corner in to scale them down. The size you make the stickers is up to you.
I am going to turn my set into a sticker sheet. Use the Draw a Box tool on the left sidebar to draw out a box.
You can then arrange the stickers within the rectangle sheet.
Using the Nesting tool is another option if you want the stickers to be auto-arranged. That's a more advanced technique so I have a separate tutorial.
Open the Page Setup panel and set up the page for print and cut by adjusting the page size and turning on registration marks. I have a full beginner tutorial on Print and Cut Page setup here if you need a step by step.
When you go to the Send panel you'll see the sticker designs (because they are PNGs) only have a cut line around the outer edge.
Select your cut settings. I have some custom cut settings in Silhouette Studio for Online Labels Sticker Paper which is the only sticker paper I use.
When you're ready you can send the stickers to print.
Take the printed sheet and place it on a cutting mat, load it into your CAMEO and then cut.
If you want the sticker sheet itself to be cut through as a die cut or a perf cut while keeping the stickers kiss cut, you will take a few extras steps. This tutorial will explain how to set up sticker sheets in Silhouette Studio.
