Coming fast on the heels of the DTF or direct to film craze, are UV DTF stickers and transfers.
UV DTF transfers are a popular and easy way to wrap tumblers and glassware with custom, full color, and long lasting stickers - so I'm starting to get more and more questions about these hard surface transfers (that are NOT limited to just drinkware).
With crafters and many handmade businesses mostly buying UV DTF transfers right now, as opposed to printing them, I figured we'd start with the number one question I get: How do you apply a UV DTF sticker?! Glad you asked...
Any design you use for sublimation or cutting can be turned into a UTV DTF sticker...it just needs to be printed with a UV DTF printer. There's no layering required and no limitations on the surface color or type so it solves the issues of layering vinyl and sublimation surface color limitations.
For example, you can apply UV DTF stickers to all kinds of drinkware - stainless steel, ceramic, glass, and plastic.
How to Apply a UV DTF Sticker
Applying a UV DTF sticker is fast and easy which is just one of the many benefits of using these cutless, weedless, full color stickers to customize hard goods of all types and colors.
When you purchase UV DTF stickers they will come on a backing with a clear laminate layer on top that's used for transferring.
The first thing you want to do is remove the back layer to expose the adhesive side - which will be white from the white ink.
Position the sticker directly onto the surface. I usually try to apply the middle first then lay down the two sides.
Press the UV DTF sticker well through the laminate.
Peel away the laminate layer and discard.
That's literally it...I told you it was easy and fast.
I threw this one in the dishwasher for some testing and so far so good!!
