However, you'll need to adjust the tray to fit various size sublimation paper sheets between 8.5" x 11 and 11" x 17. Read on to learn how to change the SG1000 tray to fit different size sublimation paper.
The Sawgrass SG1000 is a 11" wide sublimation printer, which means the sheet tray is 11" wide. In order to print sheets that aren't as wide, such as 8.5" x 11", you'll need to know how to adjust it. Likewise you can extend the tray to print sheets up to 14" long.
How to Adjust the Sawgrass SG1000 Tray for 8.5" x 11" Paper
To adjust the trays and the paper guides open the tray by pulling it out.
You'll notice a series of green latches and guides.
Start by pulling the large green guide in the middle of the tray all the way out so it's closest to you.
Compress the green tab near the right side of the tray while sliding the guide all the way out. The left guide will automatically move at the same time.
Now that the guides are as far out as possible you can place a sheet of 8.5" x 11" sublimation paper into the tray.
Once you do that, slide the side and bottom guides back in so they stop at the edge of the paper.
Make sure not to push them too close to the paper as you want to avoid buckling or bending it in anyway.
How to Extend the Sawgrass SG1000 Tray for 8.5" x 14", 11"x 14" & 11"x 17" Sublimation Paper
There are two additional green tabs on each side of the tray close to front corners. These are locks that keep the tray at a specific depth/length.
At this position, the tray will fully close and the max paper length is 11".
But, if you pop the each of the locks open by sliding them out...
...you can extend the tray out by another 6 inches.
You'll notice in this drawer position the green locks line up with a second set of lock enclosures. Be sure to re-lock the tabs into the new position.
Before closing the drawer, slide the paper guides into position to fit snugly around the sublimation transfer paper in the tray.
In this position the sheet feed drawer will not completely close, but the SG1000 will print.
Having the ability to print sublimation sheets up to 11x17" without the Sawgrass SG1000 bypass tray opens up a lot of extra possibilities...like printing sublimation sock transfers!
