Did you know you can cut different color vinyl scraps on the same Silhouette cutting mat at the same time? You can!
Small pieces of vinyl are perfect for small projects like making a spring farmhouse themed tiered tray. Check out how to cut on small scrap vinyl with your Silhouette CAMEO.
Open Silhouette Studio and the designs you'll be using for your vinyl project. I'm using an adorable set of bee designs from So Fontsy's Spring Farmhouse Bundle.
Once the designs are in Silhouette Studio, turn on the gridlines by adjusting the transparency in the Page Setup Panel. If you need help with how to use the Silhouette grid, check out this blog post.
How to Line Up Vinyl Scraps on Silhouette Cutting Mat
Collect your scrap vinyl pieces that are large enough to accommodate the design(s). Place the pieces on your cutting mat. I recommend putting the vinyl in each corner and then along the edges of the cutting mat.
Return to Silhouette Studio and use the Draw a Rectangle tool to draw rectangles that are the same size as your vinyl scraps.
Move the designs into the rectangles.
When you have all of the cut files in place, select just the rectangles and delete them.
Now just load up the mat into the machine and move to the Send panel and send the designs to cut.
These designs are small and have a lot of detailed parts, so I suggest reverse weeding small vinyl text like this.
If you reverse weed you can feel confident that your small vinyl designs - like the wings on that bee and the text - won't tear or pull up off the backing when weeding. Look how cut these tray came out!!
Find the designs used in this spring farmhouse tiered tray in the Spring Farmhouse Bundle over at So Fontsy for a limited time!
