How to Find GPS Coordinates
First determine the location you want to use and place the address into a GPS location finder website.
Don't be surprised to find there are multiple formats for a GPS location. You can add the location to your sign in any format you like; however, the most common format is the one formatted as degrees, minutes, & seconds.
Open Silhouette Studio and pull in the design into the work area. open your design.
Here we’ve opened the Our First Home farmhouse SVG design from the DIY Farmhouse Decor Bundle over at So Fontsy.
It's already formatted for a round wood sign – all you need to do is add your coordinates.
TIP: If the SVG file may already contain coordinates in the design - just delete them or set them off to the side to use as a reference for the format.
How to Add GPS Coordinates to a Sign Design in Silhouette Studio
Use the text tool to type out your GPS coordinates. For this example, we're using the Teakwood font also found in the DIY Farmhouse Décor Bundle.
If you need a degree symbol you may be able to find one in the glyphs/extra characters of your font or you can use the Draw an Ellipse tool to draw a circle, then place an offset around it.
Now that you have the design all setup, you're ready to make your sign!!
You can cut it in vinyl with your Silhouette, create a stencil, or even make your own graphite transfer, like we did here, for a cool look!
