Both new models are updates to the popular Sawgrass SG400 and SG800 and include several new features and a new reduced price tag.
The new Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000 printers include three major feature upgrades including WIFI connectivity, higher print resolution, and upgraded processing for faster printing and processing.
As the new sublimation printers roll out, the SG400 and SG800s are being discontinued.
Sawgrass SG500 vs SG400
The differences between the Sawgrass SG500 and the SG400 are pretty subtle - as the printer looks pretty much the same. The ability to print wirelessly on the SG500 through WIFI is probably the biggest upgrade on the newer model. The SG500 also has a higher print resolution so you'll get an even sharper and more vibrant print and you'll save time because of the faster processor. And there's more good news - there's no price increase with the newer model. The Sawgrass SG500 printer by itself starts at $599 with bundles starting at $649.
Both sublimation printers are 8.5" wide printers and can print up to 14" long without the bypass tray. With the bypass you can print 8.5" x 51".
Sawgrass SG800 vs SG1000
Like the smaller sublimation printers, there are a few changes to the new wide format Sawgrass SG1000 printer. The SG1000 is now WIFI enabled so it can print wirelesses whereas the SG800 had to be connected to the computer via USB.Like the SG800, the SG1000 can print 11" x 17" and 11" x 51" with the bypass tray.
Again, no price increase from the older model with the price of the SG1000 $1549. Bundles start at $1599.
