Trying to restick Silhouette cutting mats is not something that I recommend - as it's impossible to get them back to their original adhesive level. However, if you have a cutting mat that looks like this one after cutting felt, leather, or some other 'fuzzy' material you can clean it to extend the life.
How to Clean Silhouette CAMEO Cutting Mats
Grab a few paper towels...
Get the paper towels somewhat damp. You only need water, no soap.
Rub the damp paper towel on your Silhouette cutting mat to remove any fibers.
Avoid using your fingernails as you don't want to scratch off the layer of cutting mat adhesive.
Depending on how dirty your adhesive cutting mat is you may need to use a few wet paper towels to clean it.
Leave the mat to dry for a few hours before using it again.
And if you want to avoid this mess again and really extend the life of your Silhouette cutting mats, I suggest you lay down a layer of temporary mat adhesive when cutting materials like felt and leather that can make a mess of your cutting mat.

Can you use alcohol free and unscented baby wipes to clean it instead of the papertowels?
ReplyDeleteTammy, I am noob with the silhouette, but I would not use alcohol. I would think it would take the adhesive off, as for the baby wipes again I would not use, the soaps in them will attract dirt and could leave a residue.
