15" Silhouette CAMEO 4 Plus Set Up and Getting Started

Setting up a 15" Silhouette CAMEO Plus is almost exactly the same as the smaller 12" Silhouette CAMEO 4 set up.

One thing to keep in mind - especially immediately after the 15" Silhouette CAMEO Plus release - is you need to ensure you have a version of the Silhouette Studio software that supports the wider cutting machine.

15" Silhouette CAMEO 4 Plus Unboxing: What's in the Box?

Just like the 12" Silhouette CAMEO 4 machine, the CAMEO 4 Plus includes several other necessary accessories in the box including a power cord, USB cord, CAMEO 4 Auto Blade, ratchet tool, four and tool adapters. In addition, a CAMEO Plus 15" x 14" cutting mat will be included.

• Power Cord: The power cord connects to the side machine and to a power source to supply power to the cutting machine. It must be used to turn on the cutter.
  
  
• USB Cord: The USB cord is an alternative to using Bluetooth to connect the 15" CAMEO 4 to the computer.
  
  
• CAMEO 4 Auto Blade: The same autoblade that can be used in the CAMEO 4 is also used in the CAMEO 4 Plus. It's a a single tap auto-adjusting blade.
   
• Tool Adapters: The four included tool adapters allow you to use tools from older Silhouette cutting machine models in the CAMEO 4 Plus.
  
  
• Ratchet Tool: The tool is used to adjust the depth of the black ratchet cutting blade (not included) and to clean the AutoBlade. Learn more on how to clean the CAMEO 4 autoblade here.

  Silhouette Studio for 15" CAMEO 4 Plus

Before you move forward with setting up the CAMEO Plus, ensure you have the correct version of Silhouette Studio downloaded and installed on your computer. 

Silhouette CAMEO Plus users will need to download Silhouette Studio V4.3.370 or higher.  That is the first version of the Silhouette software to be able to run the 15" CAMEO.  If you have other Silhouette machines don't worry - the same version of Silhouette Studio software will run all of those as well.  

If you have a Silhouette Studio upgrade such as Designer or Business Edition, they will automatically transfer over and you do not need to repurchase them.  

While you're on the Silhouette America website, register your CAMEO Plus to activate the 1 year warranty. The serial number is found on a sticker on the back of the machine.

Finally, if you don't already have a Silhouette America account you'll need to create one so you can set up your Silhouette Cloud in your Silhouette Library.

15" Silhouette CAMEO 4 Plus Set Up

Connect the two parts of power cord together and then plug the smallest end into the right side of the CAMEO Plus.

Plug in the power cord to a power supply and then press the Power button on the right side of the CAMEO Plus to turn on the machine.

The touch panel should light up. 

I would now suggest you plug in the USB cord and connect it between the CAMEO Plus and your computer. 

Place the Autoblade into the left tool carriage, Carriage 1. Be sure there is no gap and that the teeth are fully locked in.

Connecting Silhouette CAMEO Plus with Silhouette Studio

Launch Silhouette Studio and go to the Send panel. 

From the Machine List at the bottom of the Send panel you should see your CAMEO Plus as an available machine since it's connected by USB. 

Silhouette CAMEO 4 Plus Bluetooth Setup

To set up the 15" CAMEO Plus Bluetooth so you can cut wirelessly, press the Bluetooth button on the touch panel. 

Before Silhouette Studio will recognize the Bluetooth cutter, you need to get the machine paired with your computer. Open the Bluetooth panel on your computer then press the Bluetooth icon on CAMEO Plus touch panel so it turns blue. The computer should find the device (it may be named oddly) and give you the option to "Connect."

Once the Silhouette CAMEO Bluetooth connection has been established you will see the CAMEO Plus as a Bluetooth option in the machine list in the Send panel.
