The cute, portable, and brand new Cricut Joy will be going on sale in just a few days. Since it was announced in early February I have received a lot of questions about if Silhouette will come out with something similar.

The question has kind of surprised me since the smaller, portable Silhouette Portrait was actually my first cutting machine six years ago.  So...my answer is: they already have ;)  Let's take a look at a side by side comparison of the Silhouette Portrait 2 vs Cricut Joy.

How to Make a Resuable Stencil on Silhouette CAMEO 3 or CAMEO 4

If you're trying to figure out the trick for how to make a reusable stencils for wood signs or other projects it is possible.

Using contact paper or adhesive vinyl as stencil material are good, inexpensive options- but they only work for one-off projects. For true reusable stencils you'll want to go with sturdy (and cleanable) Silhouette stencil material sheets AND a stencil-ready design.

In Silhouette Studio V4.2, V4.3, and V4.4 - it's not uncommon for it to take Silhouette Studio several minutes to process the print request when sending to a printer directly from Silhouette Studio.

The delay is especially long if your design has a lot of text or fill colors - think sticker sheets.  Today I'm sharing three options to significantly cut down the print time.

Trying to restick Silhouette cutting mats is not something that I recommend - as it's impossible to get them back to their original adhesive level.  However, if you have a cutting mat that looks like this one after cutting felt, leather, or some other 'fuzzy' material you can clean it to extend the life.
