If you prefer to cut with the Silhouette ratchet blade - the black one - you can set that as the default in Silhouette Studio.
The ability to change the default Silhouette CAMEO 3 tool in the Silhouette Studio software has been a long-requested option. Relatively recently Silhouette added that new option in.
For those who prefer the black Silhouette blade, to the Silhouette AutoBlade, it means no longer having to remember to change the tool in the Send panel for every cut.
To change the default tool open Silhouette Studio and go to the Preferences panel by clicking the gear in the bottom right corner.
From the Defaults tab change the Blade Type drop down to Ratchet Blade.
Click Apply and then OK to save your preferences.
Now when you go to the Send panel in the Silhouette Software the Ratchet Blade will be selected by default.
Of course the Silhouette Autoblade and the black Silhouette blade are only two of the tools that can be used in the Silhouette CAMEO 3. For more on all the other types of Silhouette tools and blades, check out this tutorial.
