Not so with Siser's new Metal Heat Transfer Vinyl!!
I just picked some up from my friends at Pro World and I think I'm in love!! Metallics and metal finishes are all the rage right now and the more popular they get the better the Heat Transfer Vinyl seems to get.
The Siser Silver and Gold Metal are not only stunning - but super easy to cut, fast to apply, stretchy and extremely thin on the surface.
Prepare your design in Silhouette Studio. I think the Metal HTV would be perfect for all those wedding projects this time of year. I cut a Bride Squad design and since I couldn't decide between the Silver or Gold - I used both. (And then I cut another ... because I quickly became obsessed.)
The Siser Metal is on a carrier sheet which means you need to mirror the design in Silhouette Studio since it's cut in reverse.
From the Send panel select Heat Transfer, Smooth as the material type. The default cut settings work perfectly.
Place the heat transfer vinyl with the shiny shiny side down onto your cutting mat. You can also cut without a cutting mat if you'd like - but I always recommend using one, whenever possible.
Load the material into the Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait and then Send to cut.
This stuff is sooooo easy to weed. It's like butter!
The Siser Metal HTVs should be applied at 305 degrees for 15-20 seconds with medium pressure. I used my Trans Pro Heat Press from Pro World with a pressing pillow to apply.
The Siser Metal Heat Transfer is cold peel which means wait until they cool to remove the carrier sheet.
Look how stretchy...and shiny!!
Oh and you can layer the Siser HTV too!! You guys are definitely going to want to grab a roll or two of this Siser Metal HTV!!
