I'm not talking about making your own pressing pillows, which shared how to do here. I'm talking about pressing pads.
Heat Press pads look and like mouse pads, but they come in a bunch of sizes and shapes.
Just like heat press pillows, heat press pads, help provide the best possible press by adding pressure and bulking up the area of the substrate where the heat transfer vinyl is going to be applied.
The biggest difference - aside from being less than a third of the price - is heat press pads needs to be positioned directly under the area where the HTV is being applied to act as a plateau.
Unlike pressing pillows, they don't allow for buttons, snaps, seams or zippers to sink into them. For that reason, the pressing pad needs to be positioned so those bulky areas hang off the raise pad area. Whereas with heat press pillows those areas would sink into the pillow, still allowing for an even press.
You can use mouse pads or find actually pressing pads at Pro World.
