Unfortunately, though I was invited, I was not able to attend this year's meeting - BUT I can confirm the full list of soon-to-be-released new Silhouette products for 2017 products which includes several updated and limited edition machines.
We expected Silhouette Studio V4 to officially launched, but we also learned about some upcoming features in future versions of V4 including the ability to save as an SVG from Silhouette Studio, the ability to curve designs around a shape (like text to path), and conical warp for things like like mugs and tumblers!
You can find the Silhouette Studio V4 tutorials here - and we'll be introducing more in the coming weeks! Download Silhouette Studio V4 here.
And now for the products...last year Silhouette America announced the release of the CAMEO 3- there's nothing that really compares that hype this year - but still some cool stuff.
As far as machines: a Silhouette Portrait 2 will hit the market later this year. It will feature Bluetooth and the ability to use the Autoblade. It will ONLY include one blade housing, but can use ALL of the blades, tips, and tools with the exception of the Curio embossing and stippling tips.
Two special edition Silhouette CAMEO 3s will also be released - both in limited edition. One will be an all black Silhouette CAMEO 3 with a silver logo that should be out around October 2017 in time for the holidays.
The other will be limited edition pink CAMEO 3. Proceeds on that machine will be going to breast cancer awareness and research. The machine itself will be white, but will feature a pink lid and pink tool carriage.
Finally, I know there have been some rumors - but there is NO talk (even internally), plans, or consideration right now for a Silhouette CAMEO 4. It's much more likely the Silhouette CAMEO 3 would get some minor tweaks, but not for at least another year.
As far as new Silhouette products that will be hitting the market in 2017 here's a look!
I think I'm most excited about the Silhouette foil tattoo sheets as this is something I've yet to be able to figure out how to do with the printable tattoo sheets! Foils are really hot right now so I'd bet Silhouette foil tattoo sheets are going to be a hot seller!

I just spoke with Silhouette Customer Service (Emily) to ask about the Portrait 2 release date and she told me they were not designing a Portrait 2, that the only upcoming release would be the 3-d printer. I actually asked her to see if there were more Portraits (original) being added to their store (it currently says "out of stock" and on other sites says "discontinued"). She said it doesn't show when they will have more, but she confirmed again that there are no plans for a Portrait 2. Have you heard anything more about this? I would love to buy a machine like that if they are actually working on it!
ReplyDeleteI also emailed customer service to ask about the Portrait 2, and they woudldn't tell me anything. :( Very disappointing. I don't want to invest in a machine only to have the next version come out weeks later.
