What I can tell you is Terri called me earlier this year and said, "I have this crazy idea to put on a one-of-a-kind Silhouette conference and I want you to be the keynote. Would you do it?" Does this lady I know I blog in my pajamas from my couch while switching loads of laundry and cleaning up milk spills?
Of course I jumped at the opportunity - what an honor - and the first weekend in November, after months of preparations, logistics and hard work, it all came together with an all star team of presenters (Lori Whitlock, Terri Johnson, Amy Robison, Jeana Goodwin, Cindy Eckhoff, Christine Schinagl, Kendall Ehat of Silhouette America, Lisa Potts from The Rhinestone World, Mandy Beyelor for Expressions Vinyl) plus fabulous vendors, and more than 400 Silhouette users (of all levels and abilities).
I was just truly honored to be among them!
Now let me just say I didn't know this is what 200+ people looked like in a standing-room-only amphitheater. Holy moly!! I presented for a total of 5+ hours (4 sessions, 2 presentations) over the weekend. It was overwhelming at times, but so so fun! And I certainly hope everyone that walked out of that room had something click or learned something new.
I always joke - if only my kids cared this much about what I had to say...that they would pull up a chair to use the edge of the stage as a table. :)

The thing is - I'm happy to do it! I get so much enjoyment out of my Silhouette that I want to share that with everyone I can - I want you all to be successful in making and creating whatever it is that drove you to get the machine in the first place.
Sure Silhouette School is now my business, it's evolved into that quickly over the last 22 months, but it never feels like 'work.' I love what I do so much and I love interacting with my readers on the blog and all my social media platforms and I was thrilled to take it to a new level this weekend and meet 400 of you in person!! So for that - I thank you!
So now the question I keep getting is where will I be speaking next? I can tell you this....I'm honestly not sure what this afternoon will bring so it's hard to give an accurate answer about the months ahead.
Terri has confirmed two All Things Silhouette Conferences in 2016 - both will return to the Peachtree City Wyndham. The dates are April 2-3 and November 5-6, 2016. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the April 2016 event as my family is going on a family vacation during that time. However, I have already penciled in the November conference so hopefully I will see some of you there! Terri has promised she will be sharing more details, on the upcoming conferences on her website, Terri Johnson Creates, within the next few days.

Thanks for coming to class today at Silhouette School. If you like what you see, I'd love for you to pin it!

Thank you! I would have loved to attend the conference but your news that there will be more is awesome! Thank you for all you do - I frequent your site when I am looking for something, because I know you've done it or tried it.
ReplyDeleteMelissa - Thank you so much for participating in the Conference! Your classes were amazing -- everyone raved! I'm so thankful for all of the amazing presenters, and the job they did. But, even more so -- I feel I've made new friends! Looking forward to more endeavors together!
ReplyDeleteMelissa - Would you consider hosting a webinar, for those of us that live outside Georgia? I look forward to your blog postings every week.
ReplyDeleteThank you
Come anywhere near me and I am there! What an awesome opportunity for all those folks!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for giving us so much information and teaching us how truly simple things can be! I wish I could have taken your classes at least twice each just to wrap my brain around everything. You were such a firecracker and made it fun. Thank you again for such a delightful learning time!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the fabulous information. Please please come to the north Dallas area. Specifically Frisco Texas. Our area is growing so fast. You will also enjoy great shopping. IKEA, Nebraska Furniture and wonderful malls. There would be a great turn out.
ReplyDeleteThanks again
It was so fun to meet you! Dinner and periscope round 2 on my side of the world in just a few months! :)
ReplyDeleteFor sure!!!
DeleteI live in the Atlanta area and like Melissa G. I would love to see a webinar. I have not been able to attend either of the two conferences. That is my loss, for I have missed opportunities to learn new techniques and make lasting friendships. Congratulations to everyone who had any part in the conference and to those blessed to attend.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I attended one of your classes. I definitely left with more knowledge than I had when I entered the room. You rock. :-)
ReplyDeleteApril
It would be fantastic if you would consider holding a conference in western Canada for those of us up here! Food for thought!
