Fortunately the rollers on the Silhouette CAMEO 3 are easier to move than on the CAMEO 1 or 2.
It's very important that you do not use any tools to move or adjust the rollers, as things like pliers can scratch the rollers which can then lead to indents on the material as the rollers roll across it.
The first thing you want to do is flip the release bar on the right side of the cutting machine into the down position. By doing so, the roller bar will be lifted up slightly.
The right roller is the only one that can be adjusted, so with your right hand hold the grooved part of the roller, while using your left hand to twist the left part of the roller in the opposite direction (away from you).
The idea is to get the line even with the Unlock icon.
Now gently but firmly move the roller to the left toward another set of grooves.
Which set of grooves you lock into, will depend on how wide your material is that needs to be held in place.
Once the roller has snapped into the grooves, again grip the roller with both hands and with your left hand twist toward you to lock the roller in place.
Finally, flip the lever on the right back up to move the roller bar down.
Now you're ready to load your material into the Silhouette cutting machine and cut without a cutting mat.

This does not work for me. Even with the roller unlocked it will not move to the left.
ReplyDeleteI think my latch broke, because it can flip backwards when not in the lock grooves correctly. Is there a way to fix this?

DeleteAre you hearing complaints about the white roller not staying "locked" when using the roll feeder? I am having trouble with mine and wasting a lot of vinyl because the roller "moves" to the right while cutting. This then allows for the vinyl to shift and mess up the cutting. I am making sure it is locked and the release lever is back in the upright position. Thanks!
